About Aquatic Navigation, inc.

About Aquatic Navigation

Founded in 2008 and based in Weston, Florida, Aquatic Navigation is a veteran-owned firm specializing in certified GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) radio surveys for vessels required to carry GMDSS equipment under SOLAS Chapter IV.

We conduct initial, periodical, and annual surveys using calibrated, up-to-date equipment — covering everything from full vessel and commercial ship inspections to dedicated safety radio surveys. Our scope includes testing VHF/DSC radios, MF/HF systems, satellite terminals (Inmarsat and Iridium), EPIRBs, SARTs, and AIS, along with reviewing documentation, maintenance records, and operator qualifications. The goal on every survey is the same: full compliance, no deficiencies, no surprises.

What sets our team apart is real-world experience. Our surveyors bring backgrounds in vessel inspection, law enforcement investigations, and accident reconstruction — a combination that gives us a sharper eye for detail and an impartial, investigative approach most survey firms don't offer. Our office staff works directly with field personnel so clients get what they need, when they need it, without the runaround.

Have a question about a GMDSS survey, or a new matter to discuss?
